October's here, the nights are drawing in, and we couldn't let Halloween creep up without doing something a little different. So alongside our regular arcade event, we're dimming the lights, rolling out the tracking-adjusted VHS, and hosting a proper old-school movie night.
The Lost Boys has been on our "someday we'll screen this" list for as long as we've been running events. Leather jackets, a boardwalk lined with arcade cabinets, one of the best soundtracks of the '80s, and a vampire story that's still as much fun as it was in 1987. We've watched it more times than we'd like to admit, and now we want to watch it with you.
If you know, you know. We couldn't screen this one without a nod to that scene, so we've teamed up with our friends at Gogi Belfast, who'll be cooking up themed rice and noodle bowls on the night. Grab a bowl, grab a seat, and try not to look too closely at what's in it.
No streaming, no 4K remaster. We're playing The Lost Boys on good old VHS, fuzzy edges and all, in a brilliant space. Come along early, grab an arcade ticket and get a few games in before the lights go down. It's about as close to Santa Carla as Belfast gets.
This screening is completely free, but seats are limited, so register above to grab your free spot. Then just show up on the night. Fancy dress is very welcome, so dig out your best '87 look. 🧛
Fancy making a night of it? Arcade entry is ticketed separately, so book that too if you want to get some games in before the film.
